- The contract, for an amount of 64 million dollars, includes the construction of 500 km of high-voltage transmission lines (220 kV) in the Paraguayan Chaco (Paraguay)
- The project will be developed by Cox in collaboration with a local company, including the phases from engineering to commissioning.
- It will expand and stabilize the electricity grid in the western and northern areas of Paraguay, responding to the growth in demand and the need for a more efficient service.
- With an experience of more than 30,000 km of transmission lines built around the world, Cox consolidates its presence as a benchmark in sustainable energy infrastructure in Latin America.
Madrid, July 1, 2025. Cox, a water and energy utility, has been awarded a new contract in Paraguay (through Cox Chile) for the design and construction of 500 kilometers of 220 kV transmission lines in the Chaco region, on behalf of ANDE (National Electricity Administration)
With an investment of 64 million dollars, the project will be executed together with the Paraguayan company L.T. S.A. and will include everything from design and engineering to the supply, installation and commissioning of two power lines aimed at strengthening the national grid.
These infrastructures are essential to expand transmission capacity and ensure a more reliable electricity supply in the Western (Chaco) and Northern regions of the country, in response to growth in demand and the challenges of a more efficient and resilient grid.
With a global experience that exceeds 30,000 kilometers of transmission lines, Cox consolidates its regional leadership in Latin America through projects that promote a more sustainable, resilient and locally development-oriented electricity grid.
As Enrique Riquelme, Executive Chairman of Cox, explains: “We continue to move forward decisively on our roadmap towards decarbonization, through sustainable investments that strengthen electricity infrastructure, promote renewable generation and add value to the communities where we operate. We do this through strategic alliances, integrated solutions and a long-term vision that accompanies the economic and energy growth of the region.”
