Thermosolar power plant located near the South African town of Upington, in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. It is part of the first round of the country’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP).  

This unique solar thermal plant features central tower technology and a field of 4,120 heliostats with thermal storage, making it the first solar plant in Africa to operate non-stop 24 hours/day.
