The Science Museum of Valencia (Spain) has hosted the fourth edition of the Avaesen National Congress of Renewable Energies, on January 28 and 29, in which Cox has been present. This year’s debate revolved around the challenges posed by the energy transition in the Valencian Community and included an institutional opening by the President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, and the Secretary of State for Energy, Joan Groizard.

In his opening speech, Mazón emphasised the Valencian Government’s commitment to promoting the energy transition and extending self-consumption so that this is a viable and profitable alternative for all.

The congress brought together more than 300 professionals from the clean energy sector and 50 high-level speakers, belonging to leading companies in the sector. Cox was represented by Arturo Gancedo, Project Developer at Cox Energy, who took part in a round table under the central theme “Present and future of energy in the Valencian Community”, in which he explained the current situation of renewable energies in Valencia, as well as the prospects. In addition, he explained the problems faced by the promoters of photovoltaic projects in the Valencian Community, as well as the acceleration measures that the Generalitat proposes. He also presented the current projects that the group is developing in Alicante and the value that they will generate.

Other companies that were represented at the meeting were BBVA, Statkraft, Power Electronics and Prosalia, among many others.

The congress has been organized by Avaesen, the association of renewable energy and other clean technology companies of the Valencian Community. Its president, Marcos J. Lacruz, has called for “an effort on the part of everyone to reduce the bureaucratic burden”. And he went on to propose “promoting the necessary stimulus measures so that energy has a stable price”.
