Madrid, October 15, 2026. Cox, a global integrated water and energy utility, has joined the World Infrastructure Forum (WIF) as a member of the WIF Affiliate Network and as a Gold Collaborator of WIF Madrid 2026, strengthening its involvement in the international dialogue on the future of critical infrastructure.
Sustainable economic development is impossible without infrastructure capable of ensuring access to two essential resources: water and energy. Against a backdrop of growing demand, the need to strengthen system resilience, and the challenge of transitioning towards more sustainable and efficient models, investment in infrastructure and international cooperation are becoming increasingly decisive.
Joining the WIF Affiliate Network will enable Cox to contribute to this debate alongside governments, multilateral organizations, business leaders and academic representatives, sharing its knowledge and experience in developing solutions designed to ensure secure and sustainable access to water and energy.
Cox will bring to the platform its expertise as a developer, owner and operator of infrastructure across the entire water and energy value chains, from desalination, water treatment and water resource management to renewable energy generation and electricity transmission infrastructure. The company currently operates in more than 30 countries.
In addition to joining the World Infrastructure Forum’s international network, Cox will participate as a Gold Collaborator of WIF Madrid 2026, helping position Madrid as a meeting point for institutions, businesses and experts working to develop more resilient, efficient and sustainable infrastructure.
Joining the World Infrastructure Forum reinforces Cox’s commitment to public-private collaboration and knowledge sharing as essential tools for accelerating the development of the infrastructure that future generations will need.
