Seville, May 22, 2026. Cox has unveiled its new corporate headquarters in Seville, a space designed to become one of Europe’s leading benchmarks in urban regeneration, heritage restoration, and the creation of outstanding work environments.
The presentation event, chaired by José Luis Sanz, Mayor of Seville, was attended by Jorge Paradela, Regional Minister of Industry of the Government of Andalusia, Rafael Carmona, President of the Port Authority of Seville, and Enrique Riquelme, Executive Chairman of Cox, all of whom highlighted the strategic value of the project for the city and its port environment.
Jorge Paradela, Acting Regional Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines, emphasized the “pride” of having in Seville the headquarters and operations center of a company the size of Cox, which employs around one thousand people in Andalusia. He also highlighted the “strategic nature” of the sectors in which the company operates and its collaboration with the regional administration “to generate new opportunities” in areas such as the development of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), the promotion of energy communities, and through the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Alliance. He added that “the commitment of the Andalusian Government is to continue creating the conditions for Andalusia to remain an attractive region for industrial investment.”
For his part, the Mayor of Seville stressed that: “My objective as mayor is to lead a Seville with a prosperous future. Cox’s new headquarters in the new Port District will contribute to revitalizing the area, creating a space that will become one of Europe’s leading references in innovation, sustainability, and wellbeing. It is the result of this administration’s clear commitment to attracting investment and removing obstacles to projects that benefit Seville and allow it to continue progressing. We are making Seville a city in which to invest.”
The President of the Port Authority of Seville highlighted that “the transformation of the century-old Tablada Wharf and its historic warehouses and sheds opens up new opportunities in the relationship between the port and the city, integrating economic activity, citizen-oriented spaces, and industrial-port heritage, while strengthening the historic bond between Seville and its port.”
“The development of this new headquarters in Seville reflects our commitment to a company model that integrates innovation, sustainability, and people’s wellbeing, while contributing to the transformation of the city,” said Enrique Riquelme, Executive Chairman of Cox.
Located at the heart of the future Urban Port District, the new headquarters will form part of one of the most significant urban transformation projects in Southern Europe, aimed at opening the port to the city and creating a new model of a livable, sustainable, inclusive district fully connected with Seville. The project has been designed by a multidisciplinary Architecture and Engineering team from Cox, focused on creating a space that combines heritage restoration, technological innovation, and sustainability.
A Unique Enclave Alongside the Guadalquivir
The future headquarters will be developed within the historic warehouses and sheds of Tablada Wharf, a privileged location beside the Guadalquivir dock and just minutes away from Seville’s historic center, the Cathedral, and Plaza de España. The project includes the refurbishment of nearly 15,000 m², including approximately 10,000 m² corresponding to Cox’s building (Warehouse 5) and 7,000 m² in Sheds 7 and 8.
This environment, a key part of the city’s industrial and port heritage, will be transformed without losing its maritime-port identity, preserving iconic elements such as the wave-roofed sheds, the wharf itself, and the cranes and warehouses that have shaped Seville’s skyline for decades, restoring a space deeply rooted in the city’s collective memory.
The Port of Seville, Spain’s only inland maritime port, is promoting through this project a new relationship between the city and the docklands, recovering historic spaces for economic, cultural, green, and public-use purposes, with the aim of bringing the sea closer to the heart of Andalusia.
Recovering the Past to Build the Future
The project is committed to the respectful restoration of one of the city’s most unique industrial complexes, combining heritage preservation with architectural innovation.
The intervention preserves the original essence of the buildings while adapting them to new ways of working, in line with the evolution of the urban environment. Moreover, the project coincides with a symbolic moment: 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the Tablada Cut, reinforcing the historical significance of the initiative and its commitment to a new era of modernity for the city.
A People-Centered Corporate Campus
The new headquarters has been conceived as a flexible, bright, and open corporate campus designed to attract talent and improve the daily experience of the people working at Cox in Seville.
The complex will serve a workforce of more than 900 professionals and is envisioned as an innovative space aimed at transforming the employee experience by fostering new ways of working, collaboration, and creativity.
The campus will integrate collaborative spaces, relaxation areas, multifunctional environments, and green areas, promoting wellbeing, creativity, and innovation. It will also include services such as sports facilities, restaurants, outdoor spaces, and sustainable mobility solutions, contributing to a modern, healthy, and city-connected work environment.
Sustainability and Technology Serving the Future
Sustainability is one of the project’s key pillars. The new headquarters will integrate advanced solutions for energy efficiency, decarbonization, and smart building management, including efficient climate-control systems, intelligent lighting, water recovery, and renewable energy.
The planned photovoltaic installation will generate renewable energy for self-consumption, significantly reducing the complex’s carbon footprint. Likewise, the project is conceived as a platform for the development of initiatives linked to energy communities, reinforcing Cox’s role as a driving force behind new models of distributed generation and urban sustainability.
In addition, the building will incorporate advanced monitoring and management technologies, making it a future-ready infrastructure connected to Cox’s global operations.
A Project Driving the City Forward
Cox’s new headquarters will contribute to the revitalization of the port area and to opening up the Guadalquivir River to the city, promoting heritage recovery, economic activity, and the attraction of talent and investment.
In this context, the company positions itself as one of the main drivers behind the development of the future Urban Port District, supporting the transformation of a total area of 57 hectares — stretching from the Delicias Bridge to the Centenario Bridge — into a new connected, innovative, and sustainable urban space.
The development of the Urban Port District will also enable the gradual relocation of logistics activity towards the south, freeing up strategic areas for new urban uses, green spaces, public facilities, and economic activities, while strengthening the integration of the port into city life.
With this initiative, Cox reinforces its commitment to Seville as one of its main centers of activity, investing in a project with a long-term vision and lasting impact on the city.
